If you prefer video tutorials over pdf's, I would like to recommend to have a look at www.beaducation.com . Among a wide range of jewelry making supplies they have a lot of well-made video lessons of various jewelry making techniques. The focus of their business is metalstamping and metalwork in general, and the according tutorial lessons, but they cover everything from beading to torching. They are probably most efficient for a beginner, for the advanced jewelry maker it's a nice insight into the work of excellent teachers. There's a generous number of free tutorials, as well as paid ones. I haven't purchased any of their paid tutorials yet, which are more expensive than your average pdf tute, but based on the quality of their free ones I have no doubt they are worth their price. I think they show how the future of tutorials may look like: when you purchase a lesson, you don't download, but can watch it for two weeks online, after that time it expires. By then you should have learned the technique, and as far as I can see you get a pdf handout to keep. This is not your average youtube quality, but really well made, clear videos divided in useful chapters. Professional with a personal touch. I love to browse their site, and always learn a lot.

Thanks, Renate- what a great resource! I have to make some time to spend there real soon. I have taken a quick look on a few occasions and got pulled away.

Renate, I have purchased a few Beaducation classes, and I feel they are the best available. They are very clearly presented and the visuals are excellent.
Sometime ago, Beaducation stopped putting a time limit on their tutes. Now, according to their site, they never expire. Some are now available in DVD format. And, yes, the PDF handouts are yours to keep.

I saw a few last night and I must say, I am impressed with the few that I saw. They are very comprehensive and well presented.

Joyce, that's good news - that the tutorials don't expire anymore, and also to hear first hand that they are as good as the free tutes promise.
Considered that the tutes are 30 to 60 minutes long, 25$ doesn't seem such a high price.

Renate, some of the tutes go on sale occasionally, 20% off.
One of the tutes I ordered was 1 1/2 hours long another 1 1/4 hours. The other was 45 min., but had a very long, thorough PDF accompanying it. Really worth it.

I too have purchased a few of their paid tutorials especially when they are on sale. I have found they are well worth the money. Well done with top quality instructors and presentation. The free ones are very well done too. The videos are broken down into segments so you can replay a step over and over plus as mentioned before they don't expire. I am sure you could also burn them to a disc and some are offered for a few dollars more on disc. They are a very reputable company. I read somewhere about burning a class to disc but now can't find it...not sure it is an option.

Christine, how can you burn the videos onto a DVD? I don't know how to download them.

Joyce, Sorry, I should ammend that burning the class statement. It was something I read somewhere and now can't find it so not sure it could be done.

Now is the time to try out Beaducation if you are interested. They are having a 20% off sale on all of their classes until 1-25. The classes I have purchased have been very well done!

You beat me to it, Christine! I was going to shout "sale", alerting everyone!
I already have a few new ones I've picked out to purchase. I noticed that they also have several new (to me) free tutes, which are excellent.

Oh, and another thing ... the tutes vary in price. Some are as low as $12.95. Less 20%.
