I just have to share this- I am bursting with so much joy, I could cry and have already several times.
My daughter has a very serious case of illness. She has been trying to get her insurance to approve a new treatment for her since January. Finally, now, 10 months later all was approved and she began the treatments.
She had improvement within 24 hours and she keeps getting better every day. She says she can't remember the last time she felt good, let alone this good. She has energy, good color, and is able to do physical things she thought she would never be able to do again, like open her hand. That kind of thing.
She has been sick for over 10 years, and really no treatment has made any significant difference till this one. She has had at least 10 rounds of chemotherapy, been bald 4 times from treatments, had more "experimental" treatments than we could ever count, and has baffled rheumatologists in 3 states- all who have declared her to be the most difficult patient to treat in their respective careers. She has been told she is going to die more times than any person should ever have to hear. All this and she is only 33 years old. So when this improvement happened, it is so overwhelmingly happy that words just can't express it.
I really had to share this, because I believe it is a miracle. Good things like this are the things you pray for, and hope for, and never give up fighting for, but resign yourself to the idea that it may never happen.
I guess I just want to shout it out and tell everyone that you should never give up, because there are still miracles happening in this world every day. Never give up.
