Over the last weeks I have been putting together a website. www.jcicjewellery.com/ The idea being that hopefully I will be able to join my blog (if I ever find the time to post something on it again!) and the website together. I think that's the way I want to go anyway!! Its pretty basic at the moment and I haven't shared it with anyone - other than my other half. I like turquoise. I find it calming but I also like natural/neutral. So..... Do you think the colour is a little garrish? Does it look proffesional (enough). I want to keep a friendly approachable feel to it too! I know you are all very busy people and so wouldn't expect you to sit and read through the whole site but if you do have a few moments to spare your opinions/advice would be very gratefully recieved. I have been looking at it for so long now I can't see the wood for the trees! ;D Laura, I know you are very clever in this field. Can you please be very gentle with me! ;D Thanks everyone Glenda x

I've given your site a good look. Overall, I like it. Your bio is nice, the layout is nice. I like the colors. I'm not crazy about the font that says Just Finished, Hot off the Pliers, though. I think the logo font is awesome and says "Glenda" to me. Very Celtic. But, the other font doesn't fit it, it kinda clashes. I think the logo should be a link to home, too. Almost all sites use that and I usually just hit the logo to get home. Where it says "Please read 'Buying Information' and 'Returns Policy' page prior to making a purchase" on the shop page, should be actual links to those pages. Ppl are lazy. One thing that bothers me is the individual product pages are flash. I can't use mouse gestures I would make the "back to product list" bigger, easier to hit. I'm sure Laura will have much more technical stuff to say.

Glenda, you have been busy! I'm very much with Tela: I like the overall look and colours, but think there are too many different fonts, the page is too busy. I would try to stick to one for the copy and one for the headlines. You still can vary using different sizes and bold, but I think less is more. Every additional thing you add will distract from your jewelry. ( Which goes for the chat box also - I'm not a fan of this kind of gadgets, but that is my personal taste ;-) Instead the product pictures could be larger. Further, have you looked at it in various browsers, and if possible at different screen sizes? I'm using firefox on a small netbook, and on the product pages the word "Shop" is covering the link bar. Must run, dinner with friends!

Thanks Tela! I have changed the 'hot off the pliers' font to match the header. Is this a bit too uch now, does it take impact away from the header? Im working on making the logo a link to home I have made it so that there are links to the buying info and returns page (the only way it would let me!) I have made the 'Back to product' link bigger too. Is flash not good? I really appreciate you taking the time to look Tela! Much better No, nothing wrong with flash, but the right context menu usually disappears on flash pages and I use right context a lot. For my firegestures, I right click and move the mouse back to go backwards, but it doesn't work on flash pages. I don't know if that's really an issue for you. I don't think most people use gestures. The font is better- more cohesive. I would put everything that is regular sized in the regular font and just let the fancy font be for headers. Do you know what I mean? Like the chart for Christmas post should be in regular font. I see the shop page is more centered now under the larger links for pages- nice change I'm working on my store now, too. Trying to fill up bio and stuff so it's actually interesting

My store is actually not viewable until open But, I have been writing stuff to the empty pages for it on the blog. The changes look better. It's a lot of work, I know!
