This is something I have personally been working on and I thought it would be a fun suggestion for others. I love Art Deco so I have been trying to keep that feeling in my pieces. What period in time do you have a passion for? There are so many wonderful eras to emulate. Do you love Victorian with all the filigree and flourish or maybe the Future look of the 50's with technicolor and bold accessories (Think North by Northwest and Martini set)? Pick a time, any time- do some googling for inspiration and see what you can come up with. And, remember... you are interpreting the era for yourself- with your own vision for it. Make your piece anyway you want to, at any time you want to and post it here with a description about your Era. This is should be really fun and challenging, but it can also be very interesting to research and to see what you come up with. Be inspired and have fun!

What a great idea! This is a pretty ambitious challenge, though, and I'm not sure I'm ready for it yet.
But I am always imagining jewelry in several time modes - if I had to pick a few, Stone Age/Troglodyte, Medieval, Italian Renaissance, and Victorian are those that come to mind first.
I'll have to think about.

After seeing the work that Larissa does with enameling and her fabulous Nuveau frames, I think I'l have a go at something Nuveau. Way out of my typical comfort zone!!

Hmmm... how about making this challenge more challenging? Like what you did with "horizontal element" challenge, which had quite strict "requirement" and goal. Maybe it's just me, but "pick a time" tells me "do whatever you want"... and it's not kicking my butt to do anything... How about picking one "time of the month", e.g., you write "November 2011: ______ " (insert era/style/time) and we then go, research that topic, find what inspires us in it, and create.. This could become "evergreen" challenge and an opportunity to explore different eras/styles each month

My mind is too warped to wrap around anything, right now! LOL! I'll get back to this, though...... I never really meant it to be time sensitive, but if butt kick is what we need ....

I want to see you do Nouveau, Tela!! You do Art Deco with great precision and are just about five years away from Art Nouveau.

Susan, I was thinking more Edwardian Nuveau is rather swirly, but, hey, it's something to push my boundaries!

OK-- Susan wanted to see Nouveau. Well, look how long it took, but I did it. Here's my take on Nouveau. Attachments:

Hi Tela,This is gorgeous and stunning . I am as usual in awe of your work and workmanship. I think you have kept your signature style and acheived the Nouvea look at the same time. Awsome.. Lee-Ann

Thank you I'm going to try to do a few more in that flavor. This kind of work doesn't come naturally to me though. It's fun to push the boundaries, though.
