HI, This is my first questions so I hope it is in the correct place. Can someone give me some suggestions for storing Jumprings. I have seen some ideas on beads ect, but am in a complete mess with my chain maille jumprings. I dont know how best to sort or store them . At the moment they are in zip lock bags everywhere . Anything at this stage would be better! Thanks LAS

I don't have a lot of them, but what I do is store like sizes on a piece of scrap wire twisted into a large closed loop. You could then put a tag on the loop for the sizes. I store those in the round, screw top, tower dividers. That way, I don't have to store them in baggies, yet they are still visible. I don't have a lot of different sizes so this works well for me.

Las, I find that the CraftMates Lockables containers work well. They come in several sizes, but I get the large size with 14 compartments. Each compartment will hold a sizeable number of rings. They stack neatly and have a little ledge inside each compartment for a sticker to label your rings. There is also a locking mechanism that prevents the compartments from popping open unexpectedly. As one who has picked up many rings from the floor, I can tell you that this is a VERY handy feature! ;D To keep things organized, I designate each container for one material. Sterling in one, argentium in another, niobium, bright aluminum, anodized aluminum. etc. If you work with a wide variety of gauges and IDs, you can further organize by keeping all your 18g silver in one, 16g silver in another...you get the idea! If you watch for the sales at JoAnn (they are based in the US) you can get a good price when their storage containers are on sale. They are not available in their stores, only online. Another (more expensive) vendor is Chainweavers.com. I know that different systems work for different folks, but these are my favorite so far.

Thanks Kay and Tela, I think I know which way to go. You both have raised very good points to rember as well. Yeh picking up a couple of hundred jump rings is not on my to do list I googled the craftmate storage and they look great. No many in OZ though. I will have a look at our local hardware and tackle shop to see if there is anything similar befor I order from OS. Thanks again Lee-Ann
