Here's a project that took awhile. I love this delicate ocean jasper. It is the palest pink and white. I made a frame, fused it and found one side was too long. So, I cut a bit out and re-fused it... 3 times I was doing it next to the corners where I had already added extra wire to get a big ball. It was really challenging to get the heat right without messing it all up. It's hard to explain, but the metal wants to climb up the wrong side if you heat it wrong. Yeah, that was a note to self. So, after the third time, I'm wondering- what the hell?? I check the stone and find that the stone was imperceptibly off!! My form was fine all along, it was the stone that was off. Argh! I finally got it all worked out, then filed the corner knobs into-- you guessed it Christine, TRIANGLES! LOL!!! I think I went tooo long without any and went full tilt. I hammered, filed and polished some more and then put it all together. Took forever, but I love it. Ocean jasper is one of my favorites. Attachments:

In this pic you can make out the triangles better. Yes, they are different sizes and no I didn't do it on purpose. LOL! Attachments:

It's gorgeous! Minimal but still lots of interesting details.

Thank you, Nancy. Yes, I do seem to be as minimal as I can. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In this case, I love the details. I can see me doing a lot of fusing in the future and then on to soldering.

Tela, what a beautiful piece! I love that you used a mixture of techniques. That stone is awesome, too. I love ocean jasper.

Thanks Sarah, this stone was one of those finds where no one saw the beauty but me. It didn't get any attention at auction. Maybe it was a bad picture, I don't know. I fell in love with it, though.

Glenda, it's real easy and very addictive!!! Make sure you have some needle files on hand, though, you'll need them. In case you didn't know- it is the argentium that fuses so well. Regular sterling is less accommodating.
