I couldn't go My grandkids got over the flu in time, but now I have it. So, I'm home alone and enjoying the quiet as much as I can. One grandson had strep throat, too- hope I dodge that!!! They will have fun, I'm sure. I'm so glad they went without me. I've been so many times, but the younger ones haven't been yet. The group of 7 are there as I type this.

So sorry to hear you couldn't go, and I hope you will be better soon!
Don't you deserve a little compensation for the disappointment? Such as looking at your favourite places for some yummy stones? *whistle* ;D

Everyone had a great time yesterday. They only managed to see the Natural History and Air and Space Museums. Each museum needs a full day, at least. Luckily, my daughter and her niece, my granddaughter, got to split off and see the Art gallery while the boys went the Air and Space. The rock gallery was too crowded to squeeze in so no Hope diamond They didn't go to the American History Museum, so they didn't see the ruby slippers. I was hoping my granddaugter would get to see them. Guess we need to make another trip I thought I would enjoy the quiet, but I was lonely. I've gotten used to having everyone around. I didn't even buy a single stone, either. I will today, though, I feel it in my bones LOL! I'm much improved and in need of a rock pick me up.

Hope you are feeling better. Sorry you couldn't go! I just read the Ruby Slippers will be on display until May, maybe, and then they will be taken out for some conservation work. Check before you go back, they are awesome to see! Hope you find some rocks today!

I've been to the Smithsonian a dozen times, but this was the first time for the 2 kids from Ga. I ALWAYS see the slippers when I am there ;D I SOOOOOO love them. When I was little, I wanted to be named Dorothy. I adore that movie. The slippers are so not what you expect when you see them. Goes to show what those old Hollywood lights were like. I didn't buy ANY rocks! I saw none that spoke to me.
