Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Cat, I'm a part time librarian and live with a tall guy, four cats and a few long-toothed critters in Southern Germany. I started making jewelry 3 years ago when I stumbled upon Etsy thanks to a report on German TV. I fell in love with a wire crochet piece and jumped into the cold water trying it myself. I never got out of the water ... it's just not as cold anymore I also added a few other techniques then and like to also combine them. I knit with wire, I loom with beads, do a bit of needle lace and dabble in polymer clay. Beside jewelry I like to make little sculptures if my muse gives me the urge.

Welcome, Cat!!! I was a librarian for 12 years!!! It's not often I run into other librarians out there in the world, so I am really enjoying knowing there are a few of us out there. I am a cat lover, too!!! Your little darling in your picture looks like a sweety I adopted a few years back, a cuddly black and white Tuxedo cat :-D
I tried my luck with one wire crochet piece, but haven't done another, yet. I love the way wire crochet looks- so intricate and lacy.
I hope you enjoy the community here, it's a very creative, supportive group :-D

What?! Not enough librarians on the net? I've been member of two big forums where librarians seemed to be in the majority. Let me know if you are interested in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South (NOT the one with Patrick Swayze). And here is a blog that should be interesting for any book lover, the book foxes. vulpeslibris.wordpress.com/

Welcome, Cat! Hee! I have my very own tall man, who happens to teach library science. In fact, if anyone here is interested, I have a hilarious link to Librarians Do GaGa, where some famous American library folks do a parody of Poker Face. www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_uzUh1VT98

Thank you for the warm welcome I'll have to check out the YouTube video, but I'm just running through right now because I need to keep working on a swap piece. Mya, I know lots of librarians on Plurk, so we are not alone By the way, my little darling was not so little, he was a big cat who unfortunately passed away 3 years ago. He was my special boy, I still miss him every day. There are still four cats here ruling the house, though ... one of them a master thief!

Hi! I have been trying to join this site, and for over a week it says I am awaiting approval from the administrator. Do I have to post something specific to be accepted?
