I thought I'd post a few pictures (not all at once, however), so you can see what my style is. I don't solder, fuse, hammer, wire wrap ... it's mostly my trusted crochet hooks, my wire, beads and me. This is one of my latest pieces. I wanted to try the graded look and these were the only beads I had on hand for an experimental piece. Those wire knit (done with a crochet hook) collars and bracelets are addictive because they live through the beads and I can make them even if my muse is sleeping. I got a stash of Miyuki triangles and cubes and it's fun to put together color combinations. Attachments:

Looking at your crochet work (at flickr in particular) I want to try it again. I find it very relaxing, but somehow I never got beyond the simple beaded strand. Maybe because then it wouldn't be relaxing anymore. ;D I wouldn't have guessed at first glance that this necklace was crocheted, it looks so even (my idea of crochet is what is nicely described as "freestyle"). What kind and gauge/mm of wire did you use for this? How many beads did you use for this necklace, and what material? If they are stone it must have a considerable weight to it! Questions, questions, curious minds want to know!

I have to admit I never got the hang of "freestyle" in crocheting, Renate. Honestly, it just doesn't work for me, not even for bracelets.
This necklace is made from stones ... aventurine and not sure what else. I got them unnamed as a destash from a friend. Yes, it does have its weight, but it doesn't feel as uncomfortable when worn as I had thought. As mentioned it was an experimental piece to see if I liked the graded look enough to order different beads to use.
It's silver colored copper wire, 28 gauge. Lots of my pieces are from that gauge wire (in all colors) and hold up well in daily use. There are about 250 beads in this one.

That's beautifully done. The stitches are so even and the beads are laying exactly as they should - beautiful work!

Great work, Cat! Your work is so precise, before I enlarged the photo it looked like bead weaving. I really can't wait to see your work with the cubes and triangles! I love different seed bead shapes.

Beautiful work!!! The colors are superb and the work is perfect!! I haven't tried this before. You make it look easy, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it isn't Thank you for being a part of our community, you bring a nice fresh perspective and gorgeous eye candy. ;D

Thank you all for the nice welcome Actually not working in a round is not that difficult in my opinion. This is made like a straight bracelet, the curve is achieved by making normal sized stitches except for the stitches along one edge which are smaller. I'm still struggling with tube necklaces, probably because I'm ocd about the even look. I'll get there eventually if nothing else comes along to distract me. In the blogging thread I linked to a post about the history of my knit pieces, so-to-speak. Today I went back to a bead loomed piece I started a while back. Attachments:

Cat, I think it's gorgeous. It's amazing how you can do, I clueless! I look at it and want to see more, I want to see the other side! I like the colors, too. Very appealing to me.

Thank you, Tela, Kate and Glenda!
Kate, the other side is just the same except for the thread visible along the edging. Glenda, since I don't list my loomed pieces (yet) and usually do them in a few sessions, I don't keep track on the exact time. They take me a few hours, but I think I'm not the fastest loomer and in this case having to rip out rows a few times (never loom if you are not concentrated *sigh*) didn't help with that, either.

Is anyone here on deviantArt? There's this young Native American, Daniel Pierce, who does flintknapping and is just now starting to fill his Etsy shop. I got some of his arrowheads. The first one I kept for myself, I just couldn't part with it. Of course it turned out so huge when I linked to my dA picture, I'll just give you the link ... th02.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2011/338/b/b/labradorite_and_arrow_head_pendant_by_catswire-d4i579a.jpgThe brown one is the second one, I thought amber would work well with that color. I have no idea whatsoever yet for the third one Attachments:
