I recently joined and quite like it. Pure eye candy. I think it has great potential to promote your shops, but as with all other social media, being active all the time is the key. I've pinned a few pieces of some of the members here. But if you are not a member yourself, you will probably never find out. Or will you, can you see it in your stats? Who is pinterest member? Laura, are you? I've just pinned earrings from your shop, and they were repinned immediately.

It seems that promoting is all I'm doing. On Etsy, Pinterest and now learning Twitter. Just a little bit on FB too. All my friends are on FB and I don't want to be too much in their face. This part of it just isn't my style and doesn't come easy for me. That is the only way to get exposure though. I do believe we can see hits on Etsy from Pinterest. I think I remember a couple.

Kate, don't know if you are aware of my nick from fb - in some places I go as Walburga, and have started following you on pinterest, and I see you did in turn. Doing the "social stuff" reluctantly seems to defeat the purpose of "social". I hope with practice it will get easier for you. But I understand you so well - I have my chatty times, but there are also times when I don't know what to say/write, and the words will not come. That is where pinterest is very useful - you don't have to talk, just pin eye candy, and it is nice to see when others pick up your pins.

Hi. I have to say I am a bit addicted at the moment. I am still woking out how it all works but am enjoying the eye candy as you say. I am doing the Fb thing as well but also find it a struggle to know what to write and if it sounds OK and the rest.... So pinning eye candy is easy and fun.

I didn't know that was you! I'm rather a quite person but I know it will get easier. It's making a difference in the amount of hits I'm getting on Etsy. Now they just have to buy! lol I need more inventory.

I'm still trying to figure it out. I'm more than horrible at social network things. I can do and know lots of techie things, but fb, pinterest and twitter are a mystery to me. I get really, really frustrated and overwhelmed.

I had a Pinterest account, but hardly used it. I'm not the browsing kind. Then after all those discussions about albatross I deleted my account. There is something similar now that is for promoting products which are for sale. It should be a little clearer because it (at least it seems that way) leads back to the shop where it's sold. You are welcome to promote your own items with your account, too. I have an account now, only time will tell if I use it more than I did Pinterest. www.wanelo.com
