Where to start?? A real newbie here and know absolutely nothing about jewelry at all.
My interest comes from collecting small rocks from various locations around the world and wanting to make some simple jewelry. My rocks have been chosen for color and shape and are very light weight either being thin or small. Also have some interesting sea shell chips, polished on the seashore and just begging to become earrings. What I am looking for and cannot find are simple "cups" I could epoxy these small rocks to for earrings and necklaces and more. I also found an incredible small colored spherical polished rock on an Athens beach I would like to make into a ring for a special lady. Again, thinking a small cup on a ring I could attach the rock to the ring. I have explored Michaels and Hobby-Lobby stores with no success. So, where to find these items or am I thinking wrong on how to make these jewelry ideas?
One more idea I have is to slice some slightly larger rocks into thin slices for necklaces. Am I crazy? My interest is for gifting only not for sale.
