This is the place to test and play with the various board functions, and show off your html skills. Posts, and in particular pictures posted here may get deleted at some point.

For now it is only this thread. But it would be a good idea to use individual storage for pictures (such as photobucket), you have more control about them that way. Proboards offers free webspace for easy upload, but I'm afraid our allocation(expr?) will be used up rather quickly, and after that it means paid service for webspace! re html: try square brackets instead of pointy ones. A hint: try the symbols above, there are some useful tags. Though some may not work. I've never managed to get "glow" or "shadow" work for me.

Oh, and have you noticed, there are two ways to reply: the "quick reply", or the reply "button" in the lower right corner of each post. There you get the full set of smilies and tags.

Right, mental note: Use 'reply' button so to be able to use smilies. I will try square brackets!!! I have just signed up with Flickr, do you know if this will be ok? Thanks Renate this technical stuff is way above my head!!

For sure you can post links to pictures at flickr, but I'm not sure you can make the pictures appear here. Photobucket may be the better choice for storage.

That "smiley" above is actually an image You can for hunt them on the internet (then download/upload here) or hotlink straight from some smiley website. Be careful when hunting for smileys as sometimes websites offering them also "offer" malicious scripts (spyware, malware, you name it) Fun when used sparingly but annoying when people abuse them and start posting something like this: ALL the time ( ugly image above taken from here)

testing a video upload I'm trying to see if I can get decent vids from my camera. My flip camera can't get close ups and my nikon camera takes dark .mov movies, which I have to convert with one program, filter with another and save with windows movie maker. All that for this short crappy video that I am trying to show here. This is a Russian Fuschite Nevermind, it didn't work. It was hosted at photobucket, but apparently proboards only accepts vids from youtube- what a shame- I'm not using youtube.

Wow, Tela. First for the idea to upload your own video - which opens the doors to video tutes, yay! Secondly, wow for the gorgeous stone!

I agree with Renate..impressive video and gorgeous stone!! When I click on Glenda's earrings in the challenge..the photo bucket brings up a tiny photo as it did with Renate's at first yesterday. Is it something I am doing?
