This is a test and a plea for your opinion. I uploaded a doc to Scribd to see if I could figure it out. Hopefully it works. Will you look at some of the pieces in the doc and tell me if you think they have a neo Art Deco flavor? I am trying to hone and nail down what I think of as my style. I'm not going to leave it up long, about a week or so, I guess. I would really appreciate your honest opinions. Edit-- I removed the link. Thank you for the great feedback you all have given me

Neo Art Deco? Yes, absolutely. Some pieces more, a few less, but they all fit the description.
The only thing that could be improved in terms of Art Deco flavor is the banner, in particular the font.

Thank you, Renate! You are right! I hadn't even thought of the banner and font!! DRAT! I hate to start from scratch again.

I agree with Renate - just the font that could perhaps be changed. Of course to give you a totally correct opinion I would need you to forward a couple of pieces to me - in particular the top left on the second, forth and fifth pages!!! ha ha

Thanks, Glenda, I can see I'm going to have to keep my eye on you ;D I grabbed some fonts and found one I think I like. It is way harder than you think to find fonts that good while small. What do you think?

Glad you said that, I like it too and there are literally 100's to choose from! I don't relish the thought of trying them all.

I think you have the neo-deco down, My Dear. The font looks good too. The only piece which doesn't totally fit is the one with the rubber like material. The shape of it does fit the description but the material doesn't to me. Just my opinion.

I'm drooling all over my keyboard looking at those pieces Some of them I haven't seen before... Nice.. want.. The only piece which doesn't totally fit is the one with the rubber like material. The shape of it does fit the description but the material doesn't to me. Just my opinion. +1 Cannot comment on the style, but this piece looks like alien in the company of others. (And it feels like you've struggled to fill the 4 slots layout towards the end.) I'm not sure what is the purpose of this presentation, but there are two other pieces that don't fit in well for me - green necklace (no wire on the stone), and the wirework piece right above rubber earrings (no stone). So if I had to edit your presentation, I'd cull one page. Not sure which would be the 4th item (probably one from the last page)

Thank you, ladies! The presentation is mostly to present what I think I have done that represents what I think has a Deco feel. I am trying to get a distinct look with a name. Laura, you were right, I was trying to fill out the page. LOL! I could take out the pieces mentioned. I see your points. Now I have to go back and work with font and banner. Argh! I hate that!

Oh my!! The font with it's deco drapes that connect the letters is reminiscent of the way that some of your wires drape across the stones, so the font gives the page great continuity. When I look at all of these pieces my eyes dance from piece to piece taking it all in; the creativity, the symmetry, the flow of the wires and the professionalism with the photography, as well as the beautiful colors which work synergistically. Lovely, Tela!!

Wow, Susan! Thank you so much! Very good of you to say I especially like the bit about the font and photography. At first, I wasn't sure about the font, because I was so used to the old one, but now I see that it does work better. Thanks for saying so.

Tela, I think this is an outstanding body of work. The document reflects that in the font and the cohesiveness of your beautiful pieces. As Glenda said yummy! We could just rename neo-deco the Tela.

Thank you, Christine! I am getting a real good feeling and feeling more comfortable about calling my work Neo-Deco or Deco-dence. Y'all have no idea how exciting this is for me. It's a step in a brand new direction for me. Thank you all. ;D

I have nothing new to add. I just wanted to tell you that Art-Deco is exactly what popped into my head the first time I saw several of those pieces!

I am in awe....what wonderful pieces so beautifully presented.
Of course, I did not see it before you made any changes, but it is so nicely done, I can't imagine any improvement to add.
Great work!
