Mary Tucker's twining is incredible. Her work speaks to me as a basket weaver and as a wire worker. She continues to challenge herself and does double twining/2 strands. Sorry to say..I don't know how to attach a link. Her latest vessel is amazing. She is on CWJ or her blog The Angsty Artist

Agreed! I LOVE Mary's work. I was going to say something on your basket post, but I figured you would want to post about her here. To link, just get the link you want, click the little web icon in your post and then paste your link between the two tags that are generated. The tags look like this (remove the spaces) [/ u r l] theangstyartist.blogspot.com/ I pasted Mary's link between the tags and when you see it, it becomes a link.

She is a Goddess of the wire in my book. I am in awe of her work and her writing speaks right to my soul. I would love to meet her some day, but I'd probably go all shy and start stupid-babble immediately, lol!

Maryalece, or is it Mya? Thank you for your admiration but I'm just an ordinary woman. Kind of frumpy and my hair is turning grey. I am just as likely to do or say something stupid if we ever met:))

Maryalece is the long, technically correct version, Mya is my shortened version. There are zillions of Mary's around where I live, so I have tried to come up with a nickname that isn't Mary, with alece cut off. I don't like Mary alone, for me, because it means bitter, and I have weird ideas about sound and vibrations and names, so I took out the r and mixed the letters a bit to get Mya. Think Mia, as in Mia Farrow, but with a "y", since there is already one in my name. It suits me , lol! (It's really a lot of blah, blah over an incidental, relatively meaningless detail of my life, lol.)
Yes, Mary, I am a frumpy, gray-haired lady living in the country, gardening and bending wire, another ordinary gal, who admires extraordinary talent :-D It's nice to meet you, even if it is in cyberspace, where, fortunately, I can edit my speaking, big lol!

Nice to meet you back Mya:) I agree that the edit option of the internet is a great comfort. In person, I am likely to blurt out something I very much regret.
The writing forces me to slow down and engage brain:)
I'm sure your garden is lovely:)

My grandaughter loves my hair-"Grandma, you have so many colors in your hair!" That's one way of looking at it

Too funny, Tela! I have many colors also, also, but only at my roots. My hair hasn't been grey for years!!!

One of my first grade students asked me, "Ms. B., did you get your hair cut?"
I replied, "Why yes, I did get my hair cut."
The six-year-old comes back with: "I could tell, because the gray hairs are all gone."
I guess I don't fool anyone by trying to cover them up! LOL ;D
