I changed the banner to center and fill the field and added a "Click here to check pms".
Is this something you will remember to do, (check pms, I mean) or should I continue to work on code that might add a notification?? Don't know how wonky the coding might get.

Ok, I installed a message alert. If you have a new message, an exclamation will pop up in the right corner, click it for your choices. It's really cool, actually  While I'm here, let me remind you that if you go to your pm area, you will see a list of choices in the top right of your inbox, choose preferences. Here you can choose to get an email if you get a new pm. Don't choose to get a notification because I have already done that. So, now you can click under the banner to get to your pms and you will be notified of new pms. All comments welcome. |

I see no way to access old PMs now.. Was hoping to see the PM link on the profile page, but I'm either blind, or it's not there?

Laura, under the banner, click where it says "click <here> to go to inbox". That should take you to your inbox. |

Hmm... was it there a minute ago?  I didn't see the link.. Thanks (would be good to make the whole thing clickable, not just "here".. or change color of the text that's not clickable.. usability) |

Yup, it was there  Yeah, I thought so, too, about the clicked words. This was code that I cut and pasted- have to change it myself when I get to it. Working down the list....... |

Lovely How about one extra step to make it more intuitive - renaming the link to somethings like "my private messages" or "private messaging" or whatever wit PM in it? |

AND one other thing which I figure will be impossible to solve but it's bugging me to no end. When you send me a PM a note pops up saying "you have 1 new message", and I Always click "new message".. and it takes me to compose screen. Ghhrr. |
